Delta to Temporarily Suspend all Flying Between China and the U.S.

Delta has decided to temporarily suspend all U.S. to China flying beginning Feb. 6 through April 30 due to ongoing concerns related to the coronavirus. Between now and Feb. 5, Delta will continue to operate flights to ensure customers looking to exit China have options to do so.

The last China-bound flight departing the U.S. will leave on Monday, Feb. 3 with the last return flight back to the U.S. departing China on Feb. 5.

Changes to the schedule will appear on delta.com and in the GDSs beginning Feb. 1, 2020.

For travel booked through April 30, Delta will continue to offer a Travel Waiver  to adjust travel plans.

Travelers whose plans are affected can go to the “My Trips” section of delta.com to understand their options, including:

·         Re-accommodation to flights after April 30, 2020

·         Eligibility for a refund

·         How to contact Delta to discuss additional options

Additionally, travelers can call Delta Reservations at 800-221-1212 or visit delta.com/us/en/need-help/support-flights.

Delta Global Sales Support Associates and Reservations Specialists will continue to work with Travel Agency partners and our mutual customers whose travel plans are affected by the suspension of service.

Once the schedule is loaded, travel agents will receive notification via a queued message regarding any affected PNRs. Tickets may also be refunded per Delta’s normal schedule change procedures. Please click here to read Delta’s Schedule Change Process.  If travel agents need immediate assistance or any further questions they can reach out to Delta Global Sales Support.

The airline will continue to monitor the situation closely along with Government, Health and Regulatory agencies and may make additional adjustments as the situation continues to evolve.
