Embargo on Animals to Panama City, Panama, As a Result of a Veterinarian Work Stoppage   

(August 22, 2018) - A planned work stoppage beginning August 23, 2018, by Panamanian, government-employed veterinarians, responsible for inspecting animals that come into the country, requires that Delta issue an embargo for all animals scheduled to travel to Panama City, Panama (PTY).

The Embargo Applies to Passengers Traveling with SVAN/ESAN/AVIH and PETC

The embargo applies to all Service and Emotional Support Animals (SVANs and ESANs), checked Cargo (AVIH), and carry on pets (PETC). The strike is planned to begin tomorrow, August 23, 2018, with no definitive end date known at this time.

Reaccommodation Options

Delta is allowing customers traveling to Panama (PTY) with an animal (SVAN, ESAN, AVIH or PETC), to make a date change to travel when the work stoppage has been resolved. Delta will waive any change fees or additional fare collection to accommodate the change. Please contact Global Sales Support or Delta Reservations for assistance with ticket reissues.
