Delta Waives 2020 SkyBonus Program Minimums for Active Accounts and Extends Points and Award Validity

Delta recognizes that COVID-19 has had a severe impact on many small-to-medium sized companies’ ability to travel and do business. Considering the current difficult circumstances, Delta is taking steps to offer greater flexibility to its SkyBonus accounts.

Effective immediately, Delta is waiving the 2020 $5,000 USD spend requirement for active accounts to qualify for 2021 participation.

If your company is currently active in SkyBonus, meaning your company met or exceeded the above stated minimums in the 2019 calendar year, you will remain active through December 31, 2021, regardless of how much your company spends or how many unique travelers you have in 2020.

As always, newly enrolled companies are not subject to spend and unique traveler program eligibility requirements for the first year, and Delta is extending this for an additional year for new customers that signed up in 2019.  Companies that signed up for SkyBonus in 2019 or 2020 will remain active until December 31, 2021.

In addition to waiving 2020 program eligibility requirements, Delta is also taking additional steps to provide flexibility and ensure that SkyBonus customers are able to redeem SkyBonus points and awards, including:

  • Extending expiring SkyBonus points for an additional 12 months. All points scheduled to expire at the end of 2020 will be extended to expire on December 31, 2021
  • Extending SkyBonus travel award certificates with a July to December 2020 expiration date to a December 31, 2021, expiration date to allow more time for employees to use them

We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you onboard when your company returns to traveling.
