Delta wins Business Travel Awards Europe on strength of health and safety focus

Business Travel Awards Europe

One month after the U.K. reopened to fully vaccinated U.S. residents without quarantine, Delta triumphed at the Business Travel Awards taking home the Travel Partner of the Year – Global Airline accolade in recognition of our commitment to the health and safety of our customers during the pandemic.

Delta beat off competition from ANA, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways to take home the award, which is a new category for 2021. We have previously won Best Long-Haul Airline three times and Best Business Airline twice.

“This is a proud moment for the Delta team,” said Nadia Clinton, Regional Sales Manager U.K. and Ireland, who collected the award. “Everyone has gone above and beyond over the past 18 months to maintain the close relationships we’ve developed with our customers and partners. This award is recognition of that commitment and our focus on safety and customer experience.”

The Business Travel Awards is one of the most prestigious travel awards events in the U.K. covering airline, hotel and ground transportation categories. The judges also praised Delta for our pioneering covid-tested flight initiative from the U.S. to Amsterdam and Italy.

“We were impressed with Delta’s strong account management in crisis and the way they supported return-to-travel with 400 airport tours for travel managers and other travel service professionals in 80 countries,” said the judges.  “We were also impressed by the airline's Covid-19 protocols, including test flights to Italy and Amsterdam and social distancing with empty middle seats. Looking beyond covid, your long-term view on distribution and airline retailing; carbon offsetting program for all flights made Delta a worthy winner.”

We currently fly to London Heathrow daily from Atlanta and three-times-a-week from New York-JFK. Nonstop service to the U.K. capital is also due to resume later this year from Detroit and Seattle. We continue to urge the Biden Administration to repeal the 212f proclamation allowing non-essential U.K. travelers to enter the U.S..
