Delta Beats 2017 Cancellation-Free Performance Records

Delta flew 15.2 million customers across its broad global network last month, setting a new September performance record for the airline. And the number of passengers on board wasn’t the only record the airline broke.

By the end of September, Delta had successfully operated 97 ‘brand days’, exceeding its previous full-year record in the first nine months of this year. A brand day requires that both sides of Delta’s operation, mainline and Delta Connection, run without a cancellation. That’s no small feat given an average of 5,500 flights depart each day across the network.

Delta is committed to getting customers to their destination on time and its efforts have been recognized by the industry.

Awarded, ‘World’s Most On-Time Airline’ 2017 by Flightglobal, in 2017 Delta ran 242 days without any mainline cancellations, including 90 days with no cancellations system-wide. Delta has already beaten the record it set last year, with over two months of 2018 still to go.
