Fresh Flavors Take Flight: Delta Rolls out New Menu Offerings at Home and Abroad

Delta continues to take in-flight dining to new heights, with chef-driven meals that bring restaurant-quality selections to the skies.

Beginning June 1, Delta's partnership with Los Angeles-based chefs, Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo , will expand to four additional international markets. Delta One customers travelling on flights from Los Angeles to Paris (CDG), Amsterdam, Tokyo (HND) and Shanghai will enjoy fan favorites like marinara braised meatballs, BBQ chicken with mac and cheese, and fontina, parmesan and raschera lasagna with pomodoro sauce. The move to expand the partnership comes after high praise from customers who have enjoyed the menu on existing routes.

Also on June 1, Delta will launch its partnership with Korean chef Woo-Joong Kwon  to offer regionally inspired meals for U.S.-bound travelers. Customers on flights from Seoul to Seattle, Atlanta and Detroit in the Delta One, Delta Premium Select* and Main Cabins will dine on authentic, locally-sourced meals designed by Kwon, including Sanchae Bibimbap served with mountain vegetables, beef, rice and egg. Outbound flights from the three U.S. markets to Seoul will serve familiar Korean dishes from popular local restaurants, including Atlanta's Stone Bowl House and Detroit's Bibimbab Restaurant.

This is the latest in the airline's investments in the Asia-Pacific region where it has seen a steady increase in customer satisfaction  as more Asia-based customers choose to fly Delta. Some of the investments include expanding its Asia-Pacific network, developing strong partnerships with important Asian carriers like China Eastern , China Southern and Korean Air , operating Delta's first Airbus A350s into Asian markets featuring the all-new Delta One suite product enhancement and Delta Premium Select cabin, upgrading complimentary economy cabin amenities and more.

"We are proud to have created a distinctive onboard service that replicates the restaurant experience that our customers desire and expect," said Lisa Bauer, V.P. — On-Board Services. "We want to make sure the dining experience on board is as authentic to local culture as it is delicious."

Flight Fuel Menu Refresh

Ahead of the busy summer travel season, Delta will serve new offerings on its Flight Fuel menu for customers in the Main Cabin on select flights over 900 miles within North America. The refreshed menu, which launched April 1, features updated for-purchase dining selections, including two new healthy and wholesome Luvo wraps under 500 calories. Other new items joining the popular fruit and cheese plate are a mesquite-smoked turkey breakfast sandwich and a mesquite-smoked turkey combo.

Seasonal Wine Refresh

Delta's new meal offerings will be complemented by a selection of wines curated by Delta's Master Sommelier, Andrea Robinson.

Syncing with the rotation from spring to summer menus will be similar seasonally inspired and regionally sourced wines, like Ventenac Les Plos Chardonnay and Ritual Pinot Noir in the Delta One cabin.

These culinary enhancements  are part of Delta's multi-billion dollar investment in the overall customer experience. In the past several years, the airline has made significant enhancements to the Main Cabin experience including free Main Cabin meals  on select coast-to-coast routes, free mobile messaging,  free in-flight entertainment , upgraded Main Cabin snacks , the addition of sparkling wine , access to Wi-Fi on nearly all flights, enhanced blankets and refreshed Flight Fuel  food-for-purchase options. Recent upgrades to the Delta One in-flight experience include not only the launch of the cabin's newest chef-designed menus and pre-select  options on select international flights, but also TUMI amenity kits  with Kiehl's products, an Alessi-designed collection  of serviceware, Westin Heavenly® In-Flight Bedding and Delta's new noise-canceling LSTN headphones .

*Delta Premium Select is not available on flights between Seoul and Seattle.
