On February 24th, 2018 , the Delta-marketed Premium Economy inventory classes for flights operated by Delta’s Joint Venture (JV) partner Virgin Australia (VA) were reassigned from W to P, A and G.  Delta-marketed fares for Premium Economy services offered by VA will use classes P, A and G for travel on or after March 16th, 2018.

Please note: There are no changes to VA-marketed Premium Economy fare products.

There are no changes to codeshare inventory classes other than W, and there are no changes at this time to Delta-operated flights.

Delta customers who were booked in Premium Economy on DL-marketed, VA-operated flights in W class departing on or after March 16th, 2018 have been re-accommodated to G class.  Converted PNRs were updated via normal schedule change processing.

Ticket re-issues are required to make the converted bookings check-in ready:

  • PNRs converted to G class will be remarked with a message that reads “REBKD DUE TO CLASS MAPPING CHANGE – TICKET REISSUE IS REQUIRED”

  • Please reissue the ticket as an even exchange, to ensure the converted booking is check-in ready

  • Add the following OSI message to the PNR: “OSI DL REISSUE DUE TO DL SKED CHG”

If agencies do not wish to re-issue, Delta will perform the re-issue in advance of travel so that all customers are check-in ready.

Delta has worked to retain existing seat assignments, and is reviewing any conversions that did not automatically preserve seat assignments to manually assign seats.

Please note that customers traveling with a W class booking before March 16th, 2018 are not impacted.  Also, there is no impact to customers wishing to make voluntary changes to existing reservations. Agencies may assist customers as normal by selecting from available fares and inventory to make desired changes, and existing ticket values may be applied to the new fare as usual

Existing Customer Incentives
To ensure that customers continue to receive existing incentives for VA-operated Premium Economy, those incentives have already been pre-loaded to the new P/A/G classes. Customers will continue to benefit from those incentives with the new codeshare inventory classes.
