Important Changes for Customers Planning to Travel to Cuba

The Department of the Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) implemented on Tuesday, June 4, effective as of June 5, new rules that prohibit US carriers from carrying travelers to Cuba under the previous “Group People to People” Travel Authorization

As a result of the new rules, Delta will no longer accept bookings to Cuba for customers who plan to travel under the Group People to People Travel Authorization. This is effective for tickets issued and for travel on or after June 5, 2019. Customers who completed bookings before midnight on June 4 are still permitted to travel under "Group people-to-people" general license.

What Does This Mean for the Customer?

Customer who booked on or after June 5, 2019 will no longer be able to use the people-to-people general license as their travel reason.
