Delta partners with Global Citizen in Accra   

Global Citizen Festival

Delta’s team in Ghana stood with artists, world leaders, corporations, philanthropists and individuals at the Global Citizen Festival in Accra on September 24, 2022. Global Citizen is a worldwide organization that calls for action to defeat poverty, demand equity and defend the planet.  

The first event of its kind ever held in Accra, the Global Citizen Festival took place at Black Star Square and marked Ghana’s 65th anniversary of Independence and the 20th anniversary of the African Union. The festival included performances from celebrated African and international artists including Usher, SZA, Stormzy, Gyakie, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and TEMS. Oxlade, Tiwa Savage and Pheelz made surprise guest appearances from Nigeria.

Delta is committed to sustainability, including accelerating the availability of sustainable aviation fuels and driving innovation for the aircraft of the future. The airline also looks after the communities where its employees live and work and in Ghana supports women and girls through its long-standing partnership with Breast Care International (BCI). This organization educates women about breast cancer and facilitates screening in several rural communities across the country.

Delta’s sales manager for Ghana, Ms. Eloina Baddoo addressed crowd of thousands, saying: “Delta’s mission is to make meaningful changes towards a more sustainable future and ensure the miracle of flight remains accessible for generations to come”.
