As Delta continues to realign booking classes to more consistently and transparently display fare choices, for a limited time, Delta Comfort+ on the modified 777 aircraft will not be available at time of purchase as a fare. While Delta Comfort+ will not be available as a fare, customers will still be purchase Delta Comfort+ as a post-purchase ancillary seat product through the following channels:

  • For Travel Agencies using Amadeus or Travelport GDSs, Delta Comfort+ on the modified 777 aircraft, for impacted routes, will be available as a post-purchase ancillary seat product through the agency. Additionally, the post-purchase ancillary seat product may be purchased via Delta direct booking channels (delta.com, Global Sales Support, or Delta Reservations).
  • For Travel Agencies using any GDS other than Amadeus or Travelport, Delta Comfort + on the 777 aircraft, for the impacted routes, will only be available as an ancillary post-purchase seat product through Delta direct booking channels (delta.com, Global Sales Support, or Delta Reservations).

·         For all Corporate Travelers booking through an OBT: Delta Comfort+ will be available through delta.com, Delta Reservations or by calling their Travel Agency for assistance.

We have noted that one or more of your customers flew within the last year in Delta Comfort+ on the impacted routes. If you believe you will have customers requiring assistance in purchasing Delta Comfort+ for travel in 2019 on these routes, please note the following:

·         Delta Comfort+ for the routes below will only be sold as a post-purchase ancillary seat product. Your customers must first purchase a seat in Main Cabin and then may purchase Delta Comfort+ as a seat product through delta.com, Delta Reservations or by contacting their Travel Agency.

  • To post-purchase Delta Comfort + on behalf of a customer, the customer must be eligible to purchase Delta Comfort + for international travel as part of their Corporate Travel Policy.
  • This purchase limitation is limited only to the above routes, specifically on the 777 aircraft.
  • This limitation is temporary and is expected to be resolved in the near future.

For Amadeus users who cannot post-purchase Delta Comfort + in the GDS, Delta offers a few options to best service your customers who would like to purchase Delta Comfort+ on the affected routes, and who are authorized to buy Delta Comfort + as part of their Corporate Travel Policy:

  • Book your customer in Main Cabin via your GDS. Then direct your customer to go to delta.com or to call Delta Reservations to buy-up into Delta Comfort + as an ancillary product.
  • Book your customer in Main Cabin via your GDS. Then call Delta Reservations or Global Sales Support to post-purchase Delta Comfort + on behalf of your customer.
  • Offer Delta Premium Select (Delta’s International Premium Economy) seat product as a travel option.

Potential Commissions Impact: We have analyzed the impact of removing Delta Comfort+ as a fare in the select 777 markets for all of our Agency accounts. For the vast majority of accounts, there is no change to how commissions will be applied to the sale of Delta Comfort + fares. We believe there will be minimal impact on overall revenue or goals.
