Booking Class Realignment: Initial Implementation Limited To Seattle Markets

Delta is realigning premium cabin classes as part of its ongoing effort to more consistently and transparently display fare choices, while better aligning with our joint venture partners.

What is changing?
  • Fare classes F, P, A, G, and R will no longer be available when booking Domestic First-Class, as these fares shift to J, C, D, I, Z and O
  • P, A, and G classes will continue to be used for Delta Premium Select (DPS)
  • F class will only be used for marketed code-share product on partner-operated flights with a true International First-Class product such as Air France’s La Premiere
Why make these changes?

Delta is making these changes to:

  • Better align our fare products with our partners to deliver a more seamless customer experience
  • Reduce confusion when booking with Delta and/or our partner airlines
  • Improve consistency of fare classes among other carriers and IATA-defined classes
How will the changes for the limited Seattle markets occur?

For this limited test market of Seattle (SEA), Delta will perform a schedule change on October 20, 2018, to move domestic First Class fares from F, P, A, G and R Class to J,C, D, I, Z and O Class, for itineraries with travel to/from/through SEA, for travel on or after November 1, 2018. For example, rebooking would look like: F > J, P > D, A > I, G > Z, R > O.

In addition:

  • Travel agency PNRs will be updated with the new booking class and tickets should be re-validated automatically.
  • Delta will add special PNR documentation (OSI remarks) to travel agency PNRs to indicate that a revalidation has occurred (e.g.  OSI 1P REVAL COMPLETE).
  • If the ticket is not automatically revalidated, travel agencies must reissue the ticket using normal schedule change guidelines.
