Salt Lake City Airport Update: Hardstand Operation for Delta Connection Flights
Effective Jan. 6 – Sept. 15, 2020, Delta will switch to a hardstand operation – i.e. customers will board planeside via the ramp – at 11 gates for Delta Connection flights at Salt Lake City (SLC) airport. Delta Mainline flights will not be impacted at this time. The hardstand operation is driven by Phase 1 of a construction project to build a new SLC airport which will make room for six international gates at the new terminal, which is being built adjacent to the existing airport. Phase 1 of the SLC airport construction also includes the central terminal, parking garage, and the west portions of the north and south concourses. The construction project will continue with phases scheduled to last through 2023/2024. Customers will be notified via email and the Fly Delta app.
