How to Identify Delta Premium Select fares in a GDS
Delta Premium Select fares are available to view and sell in most GDS in the same manner as other fares. Travel agents may view the complete fare rules and details of any Delta Premium Select fare available in a GDS fare display.
Delta Premium Select fares will use Delta’s Fare Basis Code structure. This structure features a product identifier as part of the fare basis code and allows for unique ticket designators to be applied for discount programs.
Please note: Delta Premium Select fares are booked in "P", “A” and “G” Class.

Dual Inventory Check Process
- Delta uses a Dual-Inventory Check Process for Delta Premium Select fare products in Latin American markets and markets in EMEAI*. Fares are filed as published fares and the Fare Basis Code will begin with a Main Cabin Inventory letter (Q, K, L, U, T, X, V etc.), but the Delta Premium Select booking class will always be “P” “A” or “G” class.
- When a Delta Premium Select fare product is based on dual inventory, to be available for purchase, both the Fare Basis Code booking class and the Delta Premium Select inventory class of service (P, A, G) must be available.
- Example of a Delta Premium Select fare:
- The identifier in a Fare Basis Code will indicate “P” – VLX67NPD
- Booked in P, A or G class = V Fare Basis Code
- Requires both P, A or G and V class to be available (dual inventory check)
*In EMEAI markets, there will be other fares published that are not based on dual inventory, that will be filed with a Fare Basis Code that begins with the letter “P”, “A” or “G”.
