France Reopens to Leisure Travel; Delta Adds More Paris and Nice flights

  • Fully vaccinated Americans may visit France beginning June 9
  • Delta expands Paris flights from Minneapolis/St. Paul and Boston, adds Nice from New York-JFK
  • Delta and partner Air France to offer nine times more flights between U.S. and France in July than other carriers
  • See Delta’s schedule for open trans-Atlantic destinations below

After more than a year of restrictions on international travel, more European countries are reopening for U.S. leisure and other non-essential travelers – in time for those seeking new adventures this summer and to further support economic recovery from the global pandemic.

France is the latest country to reopen to leisure travel. French government officials recently announced that the country will welcome vaccinated travelers beginning June 9 without quarantine requirements. Passengers must provide proof that they are fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency as well as present a negative COVID test upon arrival (less than 72 hours for a PCR test or less than 48 hours for an antigen test).

For customers who wish to venture to the City of Light, Delta currently serves Paris-Charles de Gaulle twice daily from Atlanta, once daily from New York-JFK and three times per week from Detroit. Service to Paris from Minneapolis/St. Paul three times per week will be added July 7, along with daily service from Boston beginning August 5. Additionally, three-times-weekly service from New York-JFK to Nice will begin July 8.

Delta, along with its longstanding partner Air France, will offer nine times more flights between the U.S. and France in July than the next largest carriers. Service includes Air France’s newest route between Paris and Denver.

As the European Union takes steps toward reopening borders, it is up to individual member countries to decide when and how to lift their restrictions. Delta will continue to expand service as travel returns and keep customers up to date on which international destinations are open to visitors.

Customers are encouraged to review entry requirements for their destination, including whether a vaccination certificate or negative COVID-19 test is required. You can find details on the Delta Discover Map on delta.com or check the official government website of their destination country.
