Delta Resumes Florida and Resets Atlanta Tuesday

As downgraded tropical depression Irma moves across Alabama and Tennessee Tuesday, Delta teams are poised to resume most scheduled flying to and from Florida and reset its Atlanta hub operation after Irma’s impact on Monday.

Approximately 140 flight cancels Tuesday are expected out of more than 5,500 scheduled and Delta does not expect that number to increase. With the exception of Irma, good operational weather across the continental U.S. is forecast for the next few days.

Delta will be operating several extra flights Tuesday between Atlanta and the following destinations:

  • Miami (with widebody Boeing 767-400 aircraft bringing 262 additional seats each way)
  • Fort Lauderdale
  • Tampa
  • Orlando

Additionally, an extra flight between New York-JFK and San Juan, Puerto Rico and Los Angeles and Miami will operate. Finally, Delta’s humanitarian flight from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos to Detroit will fly today.
