Update to Delta Codeshare with Aeromexico

Customers with scheduled travel to Mexico can travel as planned on both Delta and Aeromexico-operated flights, but please note the following customer experience changes:

Bookings: For customers who have booked a flight with Delta that is operated by Aeromexico for travel beginning on/after June 5, Delta and Travel Agencies may reissue their reservation onto the corresponding Aeromexico-operated flight. Planned itineraries will remain intact.

Customers whose travel was booked via direct channels will receive an email update about their ticket rebooking directly from Delta. For customers whose travel was booked by Travel Agencies, tickets may be reissued to the correspondent Aeromexico flight following regular rebooking procedures 1.

1 Corporate Ticket Designators and/or OSI DSCB followed by the Corporate TD should be kept in the new Aeromexico PNR to carry over corporate benefits.

Customers booked on a flight with Delta that is operated by Aeromexico who wish to change or cancel their reservations may do so without fees if their tickets originate in the United States2. More details on Delta’s flexible change and cancellation policies can be found at Delta Professional.

2 Excluding Basic Economy tickets purchased after April 30, 2021, which are non-refundable and non-changeable.

Check-In: For existing customers, check-in for converted codeshare flights will now mirror the process for interline travel. Customers should check-in with the operating airline in their itinerary and will receive the boarding documents for the full itinerary at that time.

  • Customers traveling from U.S. destinations through to Mexico should check-in at the Delta counter or kiosk to receive their full itinerary of boarding passes.
  • Customers who are traveling from Mexico to the U.S. should check-in with the operating airline for all of their boarding documents (i.e. check-in with Aeromexico if the first flight in the itinerary is with them).

Any customers with questions can consult a Delta or Aeromexico representative at the airport for help with their full itinerary. If a customer has been reticketed, they will receive an email alerting them to the change.

Loyalty: Our loyalty programs will continue as normal, allowing customers to earn and claim miles. Delta and Aeromexico customers will continue having access to reciprocal loyalty benefits.

Safety: Delta and Aeromexico operations are both supported by the highest safety standards. Aeromexico successfully completed their last IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) in 2020, the global hallmark for demonstrating a proactive, integrated and systematic approach to Operational Safety and Safety Management Systems, a certification they have maintained for more than 10 years and counting.
