A Delta Promise, Delivered: Free, Fast-Streaming Wi-Fi for All
In pursuit of its mission to connect the world, Delta is always seeking innovative ways to support your travelers and exceed their expectations. Connecting the world does not stop at delivering customers safely to their destination, and with that in mind, Delta Air Lines will soon become the first major U.S. airline to offer free, fast-streaming Wi-Fi as a core element of its customer experience. 1
Beginning Feb. 1, Delta is rolling out free Wi-Fi to all travelers onboard most domestic mainline flights. Along with free Wi-Fi, Delta announced at CES 2023 plans to launch Delta Sync, a new SkyMiles-unlocked mobile platform; as well as Delta Sustainable Skies Lab, which will be dedicated to creating a more sustainable future for air travel.
The promise to offer free Wi-Fi to you and your travelers was first delivered by CEO Ed Bastian on stage at CES 2020,when he became the first major airline CEO to deliver a keynote address at the influential tech trade show in Las Vegas. Delta also became the first airline to exhibit at the show at that time.
Delta knows business travelers are more connected than ever to technology. The airline’s investment in fast, free Wi-Fi for all travelers allows for seamless connection during flight.
On flights equipped with fast, free Wi-Fi, you and your travelers can:
- Collaborate with colleagues on documents or stream live presentations
- Finish that pitch or prepare for important meetings
- Stay connected to what matters most
Initially, Delta’s fast, free Wi-Fi will be offered to all travelers on Delta’s domestic mainline aircraft:
- Powered by Viasat, more than 500 aircraft will be equipped with free Wi-Fi by Feb. 1, and all travelers will enjoy full free Wi-Fi availability on international and regional aircraft by the end of 20242
- Travel managers and their travelers can view the status of aircraft with free Wi-Fi on delta.com/wifi
Delta Sync: New Mobile Platform for SkyMiles Members
Additionally, Delta announced at CES its plans for a new SkyMiles-unlocked mobile platform — Delta Sync Exclusives hub — coming this spring, aimed at elevating the in-flight connectivity experience. Once available, Delta Sync will feature access, content and exclusive offers for SkyMiles Members in partnership with beloved brands as T-Mobile, American Express, Paramount+, Resy, Atlas Obscura and New York Times Games.
Introducing Delta Sustainable Skies Lab: Creating a More Sustainable Future for Air Travel
Delta is also launching a first-of-its-kind airline innovation lab – known as Delta Sustainable Skies Lab – to accelerate research, design and testing for a more sustainable future of air travel. Delta Sustainable Skies Lab will inspire industry innovation, and scale known tech and actions to reach Delta’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050.
The Lab will focus on Delta’s two sustainability pillars: eliminate Delta’s climate impact from flying and embed sustainability in everything Delta does.
