Travel Agencies Located in the U.S. (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)

This policy applies to all transactions ticketed by travel agencies in the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands for all domestic and international travel. This does not affect Delta’s commission policy regarding tickets purchased outside the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands).

Delta does not pay base commissions for tickets purchased in the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands) for travel to/from any worldwide destinations. This includes internet bookings.

Travel Agencies Located in Canada

Delta's current agency commission structure applies to all transactions ticketed by travel agencies in Canada for all domestic and international travel.

Delta does not pay base commissions to travel agents for tickets purchased in Canada for travel to/from any worldwide destinations. This includes internet bookings.

All Other Countries (not including the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Canada)

Delta's base commission structure varies by country. Delta-appointed travel agents shall not, directly or indirectly, circumvent the Delta base commission rate structure applicable to sales in one country by collecting base commissions at rates applicable in other countries, whether through the establishment or use of an international branch office, satellite ticket printer or electronic transfer of ticketing data, through a commission sharing or referral arrangement with a travel agency in another country, or otherwise. Delta reserves the right to collect any amount of inappropriately collected or retained base commissions and terminate the Delta ticketing authority of any Delta-appointed travel agents who participate in practices contrary to Delta’s rules regarding its base commission structure.

Commission Recall Policy

Delta’s Commission Recall policy aligns with the Industry Resolutions specific to commission recall. Per industry standard, when a travel agency ticket is refunded, the related commission amount is recalled. This applies to refunds processed by either Delta or the travel agency.

If a travel agency requests a refund for a travel agency issued ticket, on all or part of a fare, Delta will recalculate the commission and will require that the part of the commission associated with the refunded fare be recalled via the debit memo process.

Delta will not recall the commission if the refund is due to events resulting in passenger inconvenience such as an involuntary reroute to alternate surface transportation (i.e. bus, train, rental car, etc.) or for an involuntary reroute on an alternate carrier.

In addition, Delta will not recall the commission for a travel agency issued ticket, if a refund is requested by a travel agency because of a flight cancellation due to maintenance.

Retroactive Commission Request

When ticketing against a point-of-sale commission program, eligible accounts must claim commission at time of ticketing. Retroactive commission may not be claimed.

To view details of the commission policy please refer to the Commission – Qualification Terms section of the contract terms and conditions. For questions regarding Agency Programs, please consult with an Agency Travel Manager or a Delta Representative.
