Canceled Fare/Fare Increase Policy    Updated 05 April 2023

As a general matter, Delta (DL), Air France (AF), KLM (KL), and Virgin Atlantic (VS) fares are subject to change and are not guaranteed until tickets are issued -- For this reason, travel agents are encouraged to issue tickets the same day as reservations are booked to ensure the fare quoted.  However, as an exception to this general rule, the Canceled Fare and Fare Increase Policy (Exception Policy) allows you to issue a ticket at the fare quoted within one (1) business day of the cancellation or increase of the applicable fare.

This Policy applies to:
  • All Points of Sale
  • Itineraries using a DL fare, or an AF, KL, or VS fare when combined with other Delta segment(s), when issued on DL-006 ticket stock.
Policy Eligibility Requirements:

To issue tickets under this Exception Policy, the following requirements must be met:

  • The reservation was booked prior to the fare cancellation or fare increase; and
  • The fare class booked cannot be a Basic Economy fare class (or the equivalent fare class on AF, KL or VS); and
  • No changes have been made to the itinerary or the name on the reservation since the fare cancellation or fare increase; and
  • The original fare was a valid fare when the PNR was booked; and
  • All other fare rules are still met at time of ticketing (i.e., advance purchase, ticketing time limit, etc.); and
  • This Exception Policy applies only to the published base fare amount; it does not apply to taxes or surcharges.
Pricing Instructions and Documentation:
  • Manually price the PNR at the original fare quoted and issue the ticket for the original fare
  • Enter Waiver Code 5RWFI in the Ticket Designator box; if the Ticket Designator box is already in use, then enter the waiver code in the Tour Code box
  • No remark, OSI, or SSR is required
