Voluntary Alternate Rebooking option

Delta is offering a Voluntary Alternate Rebooking option, to travel to/from Honolulu (HNL), Kona (KOA) or Lihue (LIH)- cabin to cabin - as an even exchange using the cabin to cabin waiver H9M8L, for any customer with tickets issued on or before August 14, 2023, with impacted travel dates between August 9, 2023 and September 16, 2023, as long as travel originates on/before November 18, 2023, and tickets are reissued on/before September 19, 2023. 

For Tickets Issued On or Before

  • August 14, 2023

Impacted Travel Dates:

  • August 9-September 16, 2023

For Travel to/from/through:

  • Maui, HI (OGG)

Waiver Codes and PNR Documentation*

  • Cabin to Cabin Waiver Code: H9M8L
  • Change Fee/Basic Economy Cancellation Charge Waiver Code: Q8G3M

Used to waive change fee or Basic Economy cancellation charge, if applicable

  • PNR must be documented with OSI: DL CHANGES PER OGG WF 09AUG23

Waiver Code Placement:

  1. Place in the ticket designator field if no other ticket designator is being used
  2. If another ticket designator is being used, place in the tour code field
  3. If the tour code box is already in use, place in the first position of the endorsement box

New Travel Originates On or Before:

  • November 18, 2023

New Ticket Must be Rebooked and Reissued On or Before:

  • September 19, 2023

For Travel on:

  • Delta Mainline
  • Delta Connection
  • DL marketed/ AFKL operated
  • AFKL marketed/ DL operated

Ticket Stock:

  • DL006

Refunds and PNR Documentation*

Delta is offering an exception for any customer with tickets issued on or before August 14, 2023 with impacted travel dates between August 9, 2023 and September 16, 2023. For these customers, Delta is allowing refunds for wholly unused or partially used tickets. Travel agents must document the PNR with the OSI below and may issue a refund for tickets that are wholly unused but must contact Delta to refund partially used tickets.

If a customer’s flight is cancelled by Delta due to this event, and no other alternate flights are acceptable, travel agents may refund totally unused non-refundable ticket(s) through normal ARC/BSP processing.

PNR must be documented with the following OSI: DL REFUNDED PER OGG WF 09AUG23

Note: the OSI message must be added before the itinerary is canceled.

Utilize the Travel Agent Travel Exception Policy Online Refund  form to submit a qualifying refund request if:

  • A ticket has already been reissued by Delta or the ticket is partially used; or
  • Customer contacts Travel Agent directly to initiate the refund
