Delta and Virgin Atlantic named Agents Choice Awards finalists

award

Delta and joint venture partner, Virgin Atlantic, have been announced as finalists in this year’s Selling Travel Agents Choice Awards – Best Airline to North America.

With new products and services, plus flights to exciting U.S. cities, Delta believes we’ve got what it takes to scoop the title. We’re calling on travel professionals to give us their vote.

Here are 7 reasons to cast your vote for Delta:

1.      In-flight innovation

This year, we launched free mobile messaging across our network so customers can keep up with their friends and families via WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and iMessenger at 30,000 feet.

Meanwhile, they can keep an eye on checked bags in-flight simply by looking at their phone thanks to RFID bag tracking technology that synchs to the Fly Delta app.

2.      Unique destinations

With Virgin Atlantic, we offer almost 40 daily flights between the U.K. and North America, plus connections to 230 destinations. Our popular flight from London to Portland is the only nonstop from the U.K. to one of America’s hippest cities. We also serve Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York-JFK, Orlando, Seattle and Salt Lake City nonstop from London, and fly to New York-JFK from both Edinburgh and Glasgow.

3.      Flying with fizz

Who doesn’t like to celebrate the start of a trip? Delta serves Prosecco in Main Cabin and Delta Comfort+ as a complimentary option, as well as a wide variety of wines, craft beers, soft drinks and Starbucks coffee.

4.      Comfier cabins

Delta’s A330 aircraft on routes from London to Atlanta, New York-JFK and Detroit is offering customers an elevated onboard experience, with larger seats throughout the aircraft, including in Main Cabin.

5.      Fine dining

Customers in Delta One enjoy meals created by restaurant chefs, served on Alessi serviceware with a selection of wines chosen by Master Sommelier, Andrea Robinson.  Meals can now be pre-selected on flights from the U.S., so customers get their first choice every time.

Main Cabin meals deliver a restaurant-style dining experience, with new appetizers, salads and flavoursome entrees. There’s even a mini Magnum to enjoy for dessert.

6.      Community care

Delta partners with charitable organizations in London and across the U.K. These include The Princes Trust, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity, The British Red Cross, the Trussell Trust and Young Enterprise. We also sponsor The National Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse.  In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, Delta sponsored this year’s Pride in London.

7.      Environmentally chic

Designed by Hollywood favourite Zac Posen, our new uniform has elevated Delta from the look of a traditional U.S. carrier by introducing glamour, sophistication and a whole new colour scheme. And thanks to our sustainability credentials, not one piece of the 1-million items of old uniform is going to landfill.

We are proud to serve the U.K. and to be a finalist for this year’s Airline to North America in the Selling Travel Agents Choice Awards.
