Fare Basis Code Structure

Using Delta's Fare Basis Code (FBC) structure, corporate and agency partners may apply ticket designators to more branded products. Agency and Corporate incentives can now be easily applied to these branded products. Corporate Priority and recognition benefits will also apply.   

Delta's Fare Basis Code structure now applies to:

  • Most Domestic (U.S. and Canada) First Class  

  • Delta One® and Business fares in Latin, Pacific and Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) markets, and Delta One fares available on select Domestic markets

  • Delta Premium Select fares, now available on select domestic and international routes

  • Delta Main Basic fares in all markets where Delta Main Basic fares are offered

  • Delta First Basic, Delta Premium Select Basic and Basic Business are now available in select markets

Identifying Branded Fares with Fare Basis Code (FBC) Structure 

In almost all markets, Delta will use the second from the last character in the fare basis code to identify the branded product.   

All Fare Basis Codes are limited to no more than 8 characters. Domestic** and International markets typically use all 8 characters.

Fare Basis Code identification of Extra / Refundable fares

Identifying these Extra or refundable fares works the same way refundability has been identified in the past. These fares can be identified in the Fare Basis Code by finding the following fare basis code characters in the specific FBC position depending on the Entity of the fare (examples are included below):
