Five Years of Our Joint Venture: New Routes and Elevated Experiences

This year marks the five-year anniversary of Delta Air Lines’ Joint Venture (JV) partnership with Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic—an alliance that continues to redefine trans-Atlantic travel with greater connectivity and enhanced customer benefits.

As the partnership reaches this milestone, Delta is gearing up for its largest-ever trans-Atlantic summer schedule, while Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic expand their global networks with new destinations and service offerings. Together, we remain committed to providing seamless connectivity and world-class experiences for business and leisure travelers across the Atlantic and beyond.

A Smooth and Stress-Free Airport Experience

At the heart of every trip is a thoughtfully designed airport experience that sets the stage for a seamless travel experience. Each airline provides efficient check-in processes, including online, mobile and self-service kiosks allowing customers to choose the method that best suits their travel preferences, and streamlined boarding, reducing wait times at the airport.

State-of-the-art lounges offer a haven of comfort and convenience for your travelers looking to relax or get work done before their flight.

2024 was a landmark year for Delta Sky Club, with the debut of Delta One Lounges in New York-JFK, Los Angeles and Boston as well as opening a new-market Sky Club in Charlotte Douglas International Airport and expansions to both the Miami and New York-LaGuardia Clubs. This year, the Delta One Lounge journey continues with the opening of Seattle’s lounge this summer, along with much anticipated refreshes to Clubs in Delta’s hometown Atlanta airport, two Club expansions, and three new locations at hubs.

Air France also continues to invest in enhancing the airport experience with upgrades across its lounges network of 2025 and the opening of its new Los Angeles flagship last summer in the Tom Bradley terminal complete with Clarins spa and bistro-inspired dining. Last year, the airline launched an all-new Paris-CDG experience for La Première customers including a new private check-in lobby, a dedicated security channel and exclusive one-bedroom suites that can be reserved in advance. In addition, to showcase the excellence of French expertise all over the world, Air France has unveiled a signature home fragrance AF001 that will be gradually introduced in select Air France lounges at Paris-CDG, and other lounges worldwide will follow.  And more recently, the airline unveiled its completely redesigned lounge in terminal 2E, hall K at Paris-CDG.

Similarly, Virgin Atlantic has opened its iconic Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The Clubhouse will feature Virgin Atlantic’s signature touches including an expansive bar and social area with table service dining options, exclusive spaces, including a VIP Booth dubbed ‘The Royal Box’, and flexible seating areas in which to work, dine and connect.

With three of the four partners now offering lounge access at LAX, eligible customers can select the option that best meets their needs during their journey.

KLM also revamped its Schengen Crown Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, offering stylish seating, Dutch-inspired cuisine and shower facilities for travelers looking to refresh for their flight.

As a joint venture, all customers can enjoy reciprocal loyalty benefits, with more opportunities to earn and redeem miles across partner airlines. Eligible loyalty members also receive priority treatment, including dedicated check-in counters, expedited security procedures and access to a network of award-winning airport lounges. While business travelers can access Global Corporate Priority, providing exclusive day-of-travel benefits like priority boarding*, preferred seat choice and priority service.
