Upper Class and Economy Class Reservations

Upper Class/Economy Class reservations are being processed like a schedule change.  The VS-operated flights will be canceled (XK) and replaced with DL-operated flights. PNRs booked by a travel agency will be placed on queue in the agency’s GDS; the travel agency should use normal schedule change procedures and reissue the ticket as an even exchange.

  • For 006 ticket stock, travel agent should add:

    • OSI message:  OSI DL REISSUE DUE TO VS SKED CHG

    • Endorsement box:  SKD CHG VS45 15FEB18 (note affected flight number and date)
Premium Economy Reservations

Premium Economy reservations are being manually worked by Delta (DL) and Virgin Atlantic (VS).  Customers will be contacted and offered Premium Economy on alternate VS flights.  If the customer prefers to travel on DL, the customer will be reaccommodated in the Main Cabin and the travel agency should use normal schedule change procedures and reissue the ticket as an even exchange.

  • For 006 ticket stock, travel agent should add:

    • OSI message:  OSI DL REISSUE DUE TO VS SKED CHG

    • Endorsement box:  SKD CHG VS45 15FEB18 (note affected flight number and date)

If the options offered above are unsuitable, customers may be offered one of the following alternatives:

  • Customers on the affected flights may rebook to travel on an alternate flight on the same day or an alternate date within the validity of the ticket.

    • Customers can be rebooked via any Virgin Atlantic gateway to a Delta connection. The original booking class must be available.

    • Customers booked to travel to their final destination on a connecting flight can be rebooked to a Virgin Atlantic direct flight. The original booking class must be available.

If one of the alternative options above are used to reaccommodation a customer, travel agents may use the same process as above to reissue the ticket as an even exchange.

Please note: Delta will proactively process a refund adjustment after travel is complete for customers who were originally booked in Premium Economy on VS and reaccommodated in the Main Cabin on DL.  Allow 6-8 weeks after travel for processing, any questions regarding the adjustment should be directed to Delta Passenger Refunds.

Refunds – 006 ticket stock

Customers traveling on an affected flight are entitled to a full refund should they decide to no longer travel.  Document the PNR with the following OSI entry, then cancel the PNR and submit the refund through ARC/BSP:  OSI DL REFUNDED PER VS METAL SWAP/DATE (impacted flight date).
