A Message from Bob Somers: Delta Focused on Partnerships and the Travel Experience

Dear Valued Travel Partner,

Our commitment remains to listen, act, listen to our customers.  This approach has been the foundation of our relationship with you for the last several years. By investing in our products, services and technology, we strive to provide a travel experience like no other for our corporate travel managers, agency partners and your travelers.

2017 has been an exciting year of continued investments – in our partners and our customers. Here’s just a few of our industry leading initiatives, designed with you in mind.

Enhancing our Global Network with Deeper Relationships

Last week, Delta, Air France, KLM and Virgin Atlantic announced our intention to create a combined long-term joint venture, offering customers the industry’s most comprehensive transatlantic route network.  In June, Delta and Korean Air  announced an agreement to create a leading transpacific joint venture in both scope and service, offering an expanded network, industry-leading products and services as well as a seamless customer experience between the U.S. and Asia. In May, a new chapter in the history of aviation in the Americas began with the first immunized transborder alliance between Mexico and the United States. Our partnership with Aeromexico  will benefit customers with new destinations and convenient schedules.  During the past decade, Delta’s global partnerships have fueled significant international growth. As we further develop these partnerships, Delta’s ability to align network, sales and other commercial and operational initiatives will provide even greater benefits to our customers.

Providing a Luxurious Business Class Experience with Delta One® Suites

Delta is determined to provide an exceptional business class experience, so we created the world’s first all-suite business class, offering customers a private space accessed by a sliding door with personal stowage areas. The suites, which became available for sale in June , offer features including a state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system and sleek design with premium trim and finishes to create an unparalleled experience with a cozy, residential feel. This product and Delta were recently recognized with the prestigious Crystal Cabin Award for innovation in aircraft interiors. We can’t wait for the inaugural flight in October on our first A350 aircraft.

Recognizing our Corporate Customers Onboard

Finally, I couldn’t be more pleased to share our most recent addition to Delta’s Corporate Priority.  Onboard Recognition is our newest service to recognize our corporate travelers – whether it’s a simple thank you or a milestone to celebrate – we have further equipped our flight crews to deliver the Delta Difference to our valued corporate travelers.

It was great to see so many of you at GBTA in Boston and I look forward to seeing more of you this fall.  On behalf of all 80,000 Delta employees, thank you for your continued partnership and loyalty.
