Effective for tickets issue on or after July 27, 2017:

Delta Air Lines will modify the second and third checked bag fee for travel between The United States or Canada and Mexico. In addition, Delta will update its baggage policies for travel worldwide to/from Brazil for:

• Overweight bags
• Third through tenth checked bag fee
• Specialty bag fee

For Travel Between the United States or Canada and Mexico

Key Changes Summary

Tickets purchased on or after July 27, 2017, for travel between The United States or Canada and Mexico will be charged a fee of $55.00 USD/CAD for the second checked bag and $180.00 USD/CAD for the third checked bag. Previously, Delta charged $40.00 USD/CAD for the second checked bag and
$150.00 USD/CAD for the third checked bag.

Medallion baggage allowance will not be impacted by these changes.

For Travel Worldwide to/from Brazil
 

Key Change Summary

Customers who purchase tickets on or after July 27, 2017, for worldwide travel to/from Brazil, will be limited to 50 lbs. per bag before overweight charges are applied. Overweight bags weighing 51-70 lbs. will be charged $100 USD/CAD. Overweight bags weighing 71-100 lbs. will be charged $200 USD/CAD. Additionally, customers will be charged $200 USD/CAD for the third through tenth checked bag and $150 USD/CAD for certain specialty items.

While SkyMiles Medallion Member’s baggage allowance will not be impacted, the overweight threshold will be modified from 70 lbs. to 50 lbs.  All customers will be charged $150 USD/CAD for certain specialty items.   

Please note: CAD amounts will be charged for itineraries originating in Canada. For all other countries use USD or equivalent currency.
