Important Travel Information - Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

Our joint venture partner KLM has provided the following information regarding traveling through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) during the busy summer season:

With the upcoming summer holidays, many more customers than usual are expected to travel from, to and via Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This means that the airport may at times be exceptionally busy, and there may be longer lines at the check-in desks, baggage drop-off points, customs and security checks, especially on Fridays and during the weekends. Customers in transit may  also experience lines at customs and security checks.

KLM recommends customers departing from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to be present at the airport at least 2 hours before scheduled departure when flying within Europe and at least 3 hours before scheduled departure of intercontinental flights. For very early departures, the departure halls 1 and 2 are open every day at 4:30 am (local time).

KLM is anticipating the busy summer months by taking a variety of extra measures to minimize the inconvenience for its customers. Besides continuously monitoring departure and transfer processes, KLM will provide additional staff to guide customers throughout the entire journey. It is recommended to add all customer contact details in the flight reservation in case customers need to be informed about flight schedules changes.

In addition, KLM recommends customers:

  •  Provide contact details in ‘My Trip’ at KLM.com
  • Check in online
  • Be timely present at the airport,
  • Respect the baggage policy
  • Proceed to the gate at boarding time
  • Prepare for travel by visiting www.klm.com
