BTN Europe names Delta “Travel Partner of the Year: Long-haul airline” for second consecutive year
Delta’s winning streak in London continues as the airline took “Travel Partner of the Year: Long-haul airline” for the second year running at the Business Travel Awards, held in the British capital on Friday, 30 September. Although the award category was new in 2021, Delta has a history of success at the Business Travel Awards and it is the airline’s fourth consecutive win overall, having won Best Long-Haul Airline three times and Best Business Airline twice in previous years.
The Business Travel Awards are some of the most prestigious industry awards in the U.K. covering airline, hotel and ground transportation categories and judged by a panel of BTN Europe editorial staff and travel industry experts. The judges praised Delta’s strong focus on partnership, noting Delta “really ‘lives’ this and it is demonstrated throughout all parts of their business, from their customers service, their efforts around sustainability, their investments in innovation and the customer experience, to name a few.”
Delta was highly commended in the “Achievement in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” category for its holistic DE&I strategy, with the panel calling out The Apprenticeship Program and Delta Analytics Academy as “unique and positive ways to address staffing shortages in the industry”. Delta was also a finalist in the “Achievement in Sustainability” category.
The latest award win in London comes days after the airline and its people were recognized by FlyerTalk with an award for Best Promotion and Best Loyalty Customer Service in the Americas for its SkyMiles program. Delta also took two Skytrax World Airline Awards – Best Airline in North America and Best Airline Staff service in North America.
