Discover a Different Delta from Mumbai
Delta is returning to India, with nonstop daily service Mumbai to New York-JFK starting December 24.
Since we last flew from India in 2015, Delta has invested billions of dollars, completely reinventing the customer experience with innovative products and services taking hospitality to new heights.
Here are just some of the industry-leading differences to discover on Delta.
GREATER COMFORT FOR THE LONG-HAUL
Following a complete refurbishment, Delta’s new-look Boeing 777-200 features all four Delta branded products to offer something to suit every customer’s travel style and budget.
- Delta One® Suites – luxuriously private, award-winning suites with their own door, fully flat-bed seat with individual aisle access, and thoughtful touches like customizable lighting, oversized entertainment screens and generous workspace.
- Delta Premium Select - a brand-new premium cabin offering wider seats with additional legroom and recline, leg and footrests, dedicated overhead storage and upgraded meals.
- Delta Comfort+® - extra legroom and recline, with access to dedicated storage for carry-on items.
- Main Cabin - seats are configured nine abreast, versus the industry standard of 10, making them among the widest in Delta’s international fleet.
Delta One customers can pre-select their meal option before they fly, giving them the power to personalize their onboard experience. Regionally inspired menus are created using local ingredients, seasonally rotated for fresher flavor at altitude, and come served on elegant Alessi service ware.
Delta’s recently-launched elevated Main Cabin experience is adding ‘wow’ moments on international flights. Customers enjoy a bistro-style dining experience with mix and match appetizers and entrées and a separate dessert service, accompanied by a wide range of complimentary beverages and snacks.
TECHNOLOGY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
Hundreds of movies, including Bollywood favorites, TV shows, music, games and more are free and on-demand thanks to Delta Studio® in-flight entertainment, available at every customer’s seat.
Delta operates the world’s largest fleet of Wi-Fi equipped aircraft and customers can stay in touch with friends and family at 30,000 feet thanks to free mobile messaging via iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. There’s also optional paid-for access to high-speed Wi-Fi, so customers can keep on top of work emails.
PEACE OF MIND ON-THE-GO
The Fly Delta app is packed with handy features to help make travel smoother, like intuitive wayfinding maps of Delta’s largest hubs.
Customers can also keep track of their checked bags from their phone, thanks to RFID technology that syncs to the app. RFID chips are embedded in every bag tag, with push notifications providing updates when bags are loaded and even which carousel to collect them from on arrival.
AIRPORT UPGRADES, CONVENIENT CONNECTIONS
Delta’s $1.4 billion, state-of-the-art international gateway at JFK’s Terminal 4 was expanded with an additional 11 gates in 2015, offering greater convenience when it comes to connecting to and from Mumbai. As New York’s No. 1 carrier, Delta has grown its presence by more than 65% in the past 10 years, offering more than 200 daily departures to more than 80 destinations in 30 countries around the world.
Meanwhile, the flagship Delta Sky Club® at Terminal 4 is undergoing a refresh to make an already great space even better. New features will include more comfortable seating, a reimagined food area, and a retractable Sky Deck roof.
REDUCED CARBON FOOTPRINT
With a mission to achieve carbon-neutral growth and a 50% reduction in emissions by 2050, Delta is the first and only U.S. airline to voluntarily cap emissions at 2012 levels. The airline has purchased more carbon offsets than any other global carrier, including Earth Day 2019 when it offset more than 300,000 domestic customers’ travel.
Delta’s carbon offset portfolio has supported more than 20 projects worldwide. Most recently, Delta launched a new carbon calculator where customers can choose to offset travel through one of four projects - each of which have verified emissions reduction impacts that align with United Nations Sustainable Development goals.
