Delta to Start 2020 with Third Seasonal Daily from JFK to Cancun
Delta will add a third daily seasonal flight from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Cancun International Airport (CUN) in Mexico January through March, effective January 6, 2020.
New Yorkers can take advantage of more flights bound for one of the more popular leisure destinations for people across the U.S. From its Yucatan Peninsula beaches to the nightlife experience, Cancun is a prime location to explore the Mayan Riviera, including tourism hotspots Tulum and Playa del Carmen, as well as nearby islands Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Holbox.
A popular Spring Break spot, Cancun is a gateway to the state of Quintana Roo, where millions of tourists enjoy diverse attractions, including one of the most important archeological places in the world, Chichen Itza, swimming with dolphins and exploring Riviera Maya’s jungle.
The flight is operated on a 180-passenger Boeing 737-900 (739) with 20 seats in First Class, 21 Comfort + seats and 139 Main Cabin seats. Travelers can start booking tickets on April 27.
“This additional seasonal daily flight meets an important rising demand for customers wishing to experience one of Mexico’s iconic destinations: Cancun,” said Jose Zapata, General Manager - Mexico Sales at Delta Air Lines/Aeromexico. “Mexico is fundamental to our Latin American growth strategy and we are proud to work side-by-side with Aeromexico, our JCA partner, to offer each of our customers industry-leading operational reliability, innovative onboard products and thoughtful service.”
This year, Delta was recognized as the leading U.S. airline to Mexico for the fifth consecutive year by the World Travel Awards. Delta's evolution in the country has been enhanced by its collaboration with Aeromexico to offer reciprocal benefits that make for a seamless experience.
In 2018, Delta led the way with innovative investments to transform the travel experience into one that customers can look forward to. From adding biometric technology that facilitates airport processes, to reimagining how in-flight entertainment is delivered, Delta is drawing the blueprint for the future of travel.
