Connecting Flights:
For passengers connecting in Beijing to our partner airlines China Eastern and China Southern, Delta is not asking them to transfer between Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK).
Our partner airlines will eventually move most of their connecting flights to the new Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), where Delta will begin operations on March 29, 2020. However, traveler itineraries may still indicate a short inter-airport connection transfer from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to PKX until China Eastern and China Southern load their final PKX schedules into the system. Once those schedules are loaded into the system, itineraries will be updated to reflect a same airport transfer at PKX.
In case there are any itinerary changes, Delta Reservations will contact travelers via telephone to book them onto a new connecting flight from PKX or process a refund.
Connecting to the City:
Travel between Beijing Daxing International Airport and Beijing’s city center is fast and convenient

- Document the PNR with the Required Documentation for Reissue

For Customers Traveling Beyond Beijing
Our partner airlines China Eastern (MU), China Southern (CZ) and Shanghai Air (FM) will eventually move most of their connecting flights from the Capital Airport (PEK) to the new Daxing International Airport (PKX), in Beijing. Until the partner airline schedules for PXX airport are loaded, customers’ itineraries may indicate a short inter-airport connection transfer from Beijing Capital Airport (PEK) to Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX).
Once the partner airline schedule changes occur, the partner airline flights are expected to operate out of Daxing International Airport (PKX) at a similar time as scheduled out of the Capital Airport (PEK) but will not include the new PKX airport code until the schedule change for PKX occurs in 1Q2020. Once those schedules are loaded into the system, customers itineraries will be updated to reflect a same airport transfer at PKX.

Corporate Travel Messaing Options (Downloadable)
As of Dec. 14, 2019, Delta has loaded the new PKX operations schedule into GDSs which reflect the airport move while our partner airlines China Eastern and China Southern must wait for Chinese government approval to load the same schedule changes into GDSs.
Due to this delay in China Eastern and China Southern schedule change, Delta passengers connecting in Beijing prior to March 29, 2020, may have itineraries that indicate a short inter-airport connection transfer from PKX to PEK. Please note: This information is unintentionally misleading. Delta is not asking travelers to transfer between those two airports.
For travelers whose itineraries reflect this PKX to PEK transfer in Beijing, for travel between Dec. 9, 2019 and March 26, 2020, please note that they will be transferring at PEK.
Once our partner airline schedules are loaded into the system, your travelers’ itineraries will be automatically updated to reflect a transfer in Beijing only at PKX. If your travelers would prefer not to wait for the China Eastern and China Southern schedule change to occur, Delta has other re-accommodation options available to get them to their destination. If this is the case, your travelers can call Delta Reservations or your TMC to access their rebooking options.
If you would like to message to your travelers who may be booking travel which connects in Beijing between Dec. 14, 2019 and March 26, 2020 we have created OBT messaging options which address potential bookers concerns.
