DELTA ADVISORY: TRAVEL BETWEEN NEW YORK-JFK and MUMBAI   

Delta is advising customers traveling between New York (JFK) and Mumbai (BOM) of important information that could impact their travel. All customers traveling between JFK and BOM will receive the reminders below in their eReceipt and check-in email from Delta.

Exit U.S.

  • Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) Card Holders: Passengers' OCI card should reflect the passengers' current passport. Should OCI documents reflect a passport that has expired or is no longer valid, passengers should travel to India with both their new passport and their old passport/canceled passport.
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Card: Effective March 31, 2020, passengers with a PIO card will not be allowed to board the flight and/or enter the country; they must change their PIO to OCI status.

Exit India

Security checkpoints at BOM are expected to have longer wait times. Travelers departing BOM are strongly encouraged to arrive three hours prior to departure to ensure sufficient time for security and passport control. Passengers can also check in online at delta.com or via the Fly Delta app to help avoid delays.
