New Self-Service Capabilities & Wheelchair Calculator for Your Travelers   

Today, Delta introduced new self-service capabilities on the Fly Delta app as well as a new wheelchair calculator on Delta.com for any of your travelers flying with their own wheelchair or scooter on a Delta-designated/Delta-operated or Delta Connection flight.

New wheelchair calculator: You and your travelers can now use this new tool to compare the specific device dimensions to the size of cargo doors across Delta's fleet:

  • You or your travelers may use this tool when booking a flight or any time before the day of travel for a previously booked reservation. The tool is now available in the Wheelchair Services section on Delta.com or on Delta Professional.

New self-service on Fly Delta App: You and your travelers can now indicate that they’re bringing their own wheelchair or scooter in the Fly Delta app. When using the app, you or your traveler will be asked to provide the device's weight and dimensions, which will be saved to the traveler’s PNR. To provide the information you or your traveler can:

  • Go to My Trips to open up an existing reservation and then select the Accessible Services tab before continuing on to Mobility Assistance to indicate your traveler is bringing a personal wheelchair or scooter
  • You may enter additional information if assistance getting on/off the plane is required, then save the request

Additionally, beginning in late January, your travelers who may have traveled using an assistive device in the past will receive an email five days before an upcoming departure promoting the aforementioned new self-service resources and suggesting next steps.
